Every semester it's all about finding a balance in between your school life and social life. Of course we have our education, responsibilities, work, organizations, and more that we need to worry about but what about ourselves? Before anything you are a PERSON first! You need to take care of you and make sure you're in a good state of mind to do anything. Here are some tips that I've picked up along the way to not overwork and stay sane
I don't know about you but I go crazy when things aren't organized. I can't be productive whatsoever if my room isn't organized & clean. What I would suggest is that you take one day out the week to thoroughly clean your room. You'll thank yourself later when you're in the midst of a busy week! Although last minute things do sometimes pop up, it would be easier to manage when you have everything you need to do laid out right in front of you. Personally, I plan out my week on Sunday's. Not necessarily the times I'm gonna do things but I plan what I will need to get done during that day to avoid stressing myself out. When you have everything laid out right in front of you, it's 10 times easier to actually get it done! Take a look at my very own planner. I like to fold the tabs once I finish that particular task!
Give Yourself A Day To You
In the midst of a crazy point of time in your life, it's important that you remember that you need time to yourself as well. Although there are things to do, it's important that you remember to take the time to pamper yourself and treat yourself! Try just having a pamper day whenever you're free!
Take Care Of Your Body
When being busy throughout the work week, it may be easy to just get fast food or food you know that isn't really the most nutritious. Too much of this can cause your body to shut down. I know from experience, I was eating TERRIBLY my 1st year of college plus being on a dance team & another organization. There were times where I got light headed & my body felt light. This is the most important part, your health! Take care of you so you can hustle. I would suggest fruits, salad, water for breakfast. If you're really on the go, try meal prep! Also, most schools have a gym or recreational center for their students that's included in their tuition, UTILIZE THIS! If your schedule allows it, try going to the gym at least 3 times a week. If not that, at least once.
This may seem tougher for others but you can't keep everything bottled up inside. Yes, college gets stressful at times. That's inevitable. But holding all your problems inside sometimes makes you an angrier person and that's not a good look for you. Find someone to talk to like a friend, boyfriend, parents, Resident Assistants, a Counselor, or someone on your campus.
DO NOT Procrastinate!
Now this is the part where taking my own advice gets kinda hard. Procrastination is always the biggest issue but here's my trick to overcome it, I try to do everything I have to do at least 3 days ahead of time. That's were getting organized comes into play!
There Are Resources On Your Campus, USE THEM.
The resources college campuses provide are amazing. The only thing is, a lot of students may not know about them. Try going to your department or even go online to your department and check out what they have available at your school!
Join Things, Go Out, Have Fun, Meet People!
I know this sounds a little scary, especially if you're a freshman but joining organizations & getting involved on campus is a major key. Not only are you meeting new people, you're networking! At college and in life, it's more about who you know rather than what you know.
Thanks for reading and I hope you have a prosperous Spring 2017!

Hey girls! So Influenster, a social media site for content creators, sent me a Vox Box in December full of goodies. A Vox Box is basically a box of free products complimentary of the brands for testing purposes. Today I am going to review one of my FAVORITE products in the box, the Aquation Daily Moisturizing Lotion.
When I tell you guys this lotion is amazing and it’s better than Nivea which is shocking. I use this mostly on my face but it’s such an amazing product. You know how you have that dry feeling after washing your face and you may need something to smoothen and moisturize your face, this lotion will do just that and it doesn’t leave you feeling sticky.
This product is for ALL skin types and it says their “advanced formula restores and fortifies natural water balance” which I can believe! The ingredients of this lotion are listed below!
Be sure to subscribe to me on Youtube to see what other products I use for my daily skincare routine! Thanks for reading!
Sincerely, Sharon B

If you keep up with the antics of guru's in the makeup twitter/ social media hemisphere then these two names are very familiar to you. Shayla (@makeupshayla) and Amra (@amrezy), two very talented women in their paths, were once the best of friends. They were at each other's houses, went to Beyoncé concerts together, vacations together, you name it. They were girlfriends if not besties. Now let's take it a couple of months back. Jeffree Star, another famous name in the makeup industry (but he's annoying, a racist, and disrespectful) took to Snapchat to fire shots at Shayla over comments said about another woman at a PR event in New York. Below is the video of his Snap Story and tweets directed at Shayla.
ALL SCREENSHOTS FROM http://ohnotheydidnt.livejournal.com/101705853.html
Shayla's Snap Story from that day is nowhere to be found but I did listen to it and it didn't sound like she was coming for anyone but hey I'm just on the outside looking in. Now let's get onto how Amrezy got tied into this incident.
Now let's fast forward to two days ago when the tea got hot again, it all started when Shayla tweeted this...
It's not really shade but it is. But if you were a real friend, why would this tweet bother you?? After this, Amra took to snapchat to rant (as usual) here is her Snapchat rant about Shayla below.
**DISCLAIMER: DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND TURN YOUR VOLUME DOWN BEFORE CLICKING THIS VIDEO LOL**
First of all, if anyone can get you this mad to take to Social Media and yell at your phone like you're crazy, seek mental help. That's not even a joke, I'm dead serious. Amra has always had this thing of calling out her "haters" but boo, if you're making money and you're happy let it go. Sitting on social media arguing with people all day is trash. Make your money and slay. But honestly, if you weren't side eyeing Amra after the false claims Jeffree made about Shayla and you're supposed to be my friend, YES WE'RE GOING TO HAVE AN ISSUE. Amra has always been known as the makeup girl to speak her mind. You have all the balls in the world every other day but when Jeffree comes into it, it's a different story (PROTECTING THAT COIN). I'm not saying she had to take Jeffree's side but notice when things are wrong. Now let's point out the reasons why Shayla cut Amra off and why she's the right one in this situation:
Wait, the tea gets even hotter! Take a look at this Twitter thread of a former friend of Amra's!
I hate to unfollow Amra on everything because she serves looks but I can't get with the nasty attitude, a fake friend, and people who act fake tough for social media in general. But I can't help but realize the fact that Shayla is really the only black woman in her lane right now (Of course we have Jackie Aina as well but y'all get what I'm saying). There's like this thing with Black Makeup enthusiasts/ MUA's on social media that kind of like a sisterhood. I feel like with the other's they don't really have that. Honestly, I don't even watch or pay attention to other races in makeup besides white because WHY would I? I'm a black girl, I need tips for my melanin skin. The most I'll take is some skin care advice from other races but generally, I'm watching black girls because I can relate to them. I'm not trying to bring race into it but being the only black girl in the group, you kind of have to take that into consideration. I think Shayla finds some REAL FRIENDS that are in the same lane as her and that she can relate to. She doesn't need to but it would be nice to see. Honestly Shayla, keep grinding and stay beautiful. Let the haters hate. Let Amra keep yelling in her phone about your tweets and her "haters" lol. Stay tuned though! This tea just might get reheated! Until next time!
Sincerely, Sharon B
I honestly wanted to do this topic in the form of video but of course I have a huge migraine, I'm congested, & have a sore throat right now so a talk through was out of the question. I didn't want to procrastinate so here are the beauty & skincare products that changed my life in 2016!
Sephora 10 HR Wear Foundation: 85% of the time when you see me, I'm wearing this foundation. When I tell you this foundation sits on my face ohhhhhh so lovely, y'all 😫 This foundation is the perfect medium of thick consistency & liquid. When I use this, I set my primer with the Coty Airspun Translucent Powder for an even more long lasting look. This also worked WONDERS in the summer.
Coty Airspun Translucent Powder: I just got into loose powders this year & once I found this, I didn't want to splurge until I'm done with it lol. I use this powder with a damp beauty blender & I press it into my highlighted areas rather than baking for an everyday look. For the cunty beat face, I bake for my queens 💅🏽 but I normally use a small powder brush, put a little in my highlighted areas then brush off with a foundation toned bronzer for the perfect color. This is a product that you have to try different techniques with in order to figure out how it works for you. One con is the packaging though, it's so messy so be sure to put a towel on your lap while using!
MAC Naturally Transformed: If you've been watching my YouTube videos or follow me anywhere, the nude lip y'all always see me in? Yup that's this lippie right here. I was introduced to this by beauty guru Aaliyah Jay (if you don't know her, are you living under a rock🤔) This is a nude lip that I can wear both matte & glossy. I usually pair this with a brown lip liner and a gloss.

Past Curfew Lipgloss by Kaylux Cosmetics: I literally got this lipgloss the last week of 2016 & ever since it came in I've worn it everyday; even the days I don't wear makeup. This is by far THE BEST lipgloss formula in the makeup world. This greatness was created by Kaylar Will, a fellow Youtuber & Beauty Guru. I featured her brand along with some other Black-Owned brands in my Black-Owned Beauty Brand blog post back in the summer [click here].

MAC Fix+ Spray: Don't judge me for being the last person to hop on this wave please. This is basically a primer spray but I also use it as not only one of my primers, but also to set & to even give me a quick refresh on the days I'm not wearing makeup.
Anastasia Beverley Hills Foundation Stick: Y'all know I'm an oily girl, but this foundation stick is definitely one that I can rock with. I don't know what it is about all ABH products but they feel like butter. I got lucky with guessing my perfect shade while buying online (I was at school in the middle of nowhere & desperate to get my hands on this) I would love to see how this works in the summer time!
Maybelline Lash Stiletto Mascara: I'm a die hard fan of the Two Faced Better Than Sex Mascara but if you're looking for a cheap alternative, this mascara is your answer! This mascara gives my tiny lashes so much definition & it doesn't clump. You can even go over with another coat for a fuller look.
Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask: This is another tardy 2016 product. Please be aware that this is a pricey product. I got this in a gift set & I was so happy because I've been wanting to try it for the longest & the wait was so worth it. Another warning: THIS WILL BURN THE FIRST TIME YOU USE IT BUT IT'S GOOD THOUGH I PROMISE. I watched some reviews on it & I thought people were just being extra but no, they weren't. Believe the hype. But after I cleansed after the mask, my face felt like it shed a layer & my face was left looking super radiant.
ELF Tone Adjusting and Poreless Face Primers: If you've been following me for a while, you know that I am a primer junkie. Most of the time, I use at least 2 primers on an everyday basis. If you're just a beginner and don't feel like splurging on high end primers just yet, these primers are right up your ally. All throughout 2016, I was using the Tone Adjusting Primer and after I would set that primer with my Coty Airspun Translucent Powder. For the days that I really want a effortless flawless look, I would add the Poreless Face Primer into the mix.
Erno Laszlo Detoxifying Double Cleanse Set [Travel Size]: As you may have seen me mention earlier in the year, this set is the easiest set to have for an everyday routine. These products were sent to me by Influenster [sign up here] in their Vox Box. Ever since I got it, I've been using it in my everyday routine. Some days, I just use the Cleansing Oil but I still get that same deep clean, refreshing feeling!
What were your favorite products of 2016? Let me know in the comments or on Twitter! Thanks for reading & I wish you a very Happy New Year! :)
Sincerely, Sharon B
Happy New Year loves! I took some time out to really sit down and think what I want to do going forward with not only my blog but also my brand. As most of you may know, I am currently a college student majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. After graduating, I don't have a set plan but I do know that I want to work with Social Media because this is a place where I speak my mind to not only people that I know but across the world. It amazes me how people from other parts of the country follow me and ask me for advice. I just want to grow my audience because blogging and Youtube is something that I love to do and it also gives me the experience to show a company that they can trust me with having their brand in my hands.
Looking back into 2016, I have accomplished some things that I am extremely proud of. At the end of the Winter 2016 semester, I held a 3.3 GPA (Cul.) and a 3.7 semester GPA. I participated in my first internship with Blk + Blu Online while also working at the largest Macy's department store in the world (Herald's Square - NYC). I am currently a Residence Assistant for my school, which is a position I have been praying to get. As far as my brand, I did start my blog and youtube channel which was something that was so scary for me because I was always thinking what would people think of me. But I realized that this is something that you just have to do. Stop thinking about what other people would think about you and do what you love to do. Beauty, Skincare, Fashion & Lifestyle, that's me. The girl on snapchat with her bonnet, that's me. I want to come across as me unapologetically while also taking you guys along the college journey to show you the work that goes along with it. I want to be an inspiration to girls [young black girls in particular] who may think that they don't have a voice in today's media because you only see the mainstream Caucasian youtubers. While they are still amazing, REPRESENTATION MATTERS. I want to be that relatable person that you can ask questions to about college, beauty, skincare, etc. or even life in general. That is what I plan to do with my brand.
Going forward in 2017, I have set some goals in place. Regardless of my hectic schedule, I want to post on my blog and my Youtube channel as frequently as possible. Once I get back to school, I will create a schedule that would work with my classes and work schedule. I also want to participate in another internship. I have applied to some in the North Jersey, NYC area so keep my applications in your prayers! A 3.5+ GPA IS A MUST FOR ME BY THE END OF 2017. Finally, I want to plan two events by the end of 2017 that not only gives back to my community but showcases my brand and what I can do. Of course I will have monthly and quarterly goals but for the most part, these are my main focuses for the year of 2017 & I'm ready to knock them out of the water. Thank you for keeping up with me and following my journey & I wish you the best in the new year!
Sincerely, Sharon B
